The Worm Farm
You may wonder what sort of difference a worm farm can make. A massive difference! All our fruit and veggie scraps go straight into our worms (and not the landfill!), and the worms love it! We love it too—so much that we now have two worm farms.
The worms repay us by producing liquid that my mum uses for our plants. What a collaboration!
I think you might have some questions about worm farms, so we’ve listed a few below. If you can’t find the answer to your question, feel free to shoot me an email.
-
A: There are many different types available. We have the Tumbleweed Worm Cafe, our neighbors use a Compost Tumbler, and my grandma has a Tumbling Garden. They are all different, so you might need to do some research to find the best fit for you.
-
A: Raw fruits and veggies, peels, coffee grounds, egg shells, avocado seeds—sometimes my mum even adds old cotton socks! Worms love these scraps, but be sure not to include meat, onions, or citrus.
-
A: No, it doesn’t. We have our two units on the balcony, and we can't smell them at all.

A: You can install them wherever you want. On the balcony, in the garden, you can also have them at school! Check out our photos below
