I wouldn’t — and I bet you wouldn’t either!

Did you know that illegal dumping of rubbish in the bush destroys the natural habitat of hundreds of animals?
It also costs governments tens of millions of dollars to clean it all up.
But can we ever really undo all the damage our rubbish causes to the forest?

LITTERING AT THE BEACH
Did you know that over 75% of the waste found on Australian beaches is plastic?
This plastic can seriously harm marine animals — it can wrap around them or get stuck in their bodies.
Even worse, sea creatures like turtles and fish often mistake plastic for food.
It can hurt them badly, or even kill them.
What happens if we don’t pick up all the rubbish?
Can it affect sea animals?

Did you know that leaving someone out on the playground can really hurt their feelings?
It can make them feel lonely, sad, and like they don’t belong.
About 1 in 4 kids in Australia say they get bullied every few weeks or more.
Bullying and exclusion can make school feel scary instead of fun.
Should we play with other kids — even if they look or behave a little differently from us?

WHY CARE?
The KIDZ came across this quote from Mother Teresa, and absolutely love it:
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
Not everyone is meant to achieve grand things — and that’s perfectly okay. What matters is that we put love and care into the small acts we do every day.
That’s what makes us human. And we should be proud of that.
We created this story to show how much small acts matter.
We wanted to share with you the why — why we should care about others and about our environment.
Care and love for people and our ecosystem are what keep us going.
And we hope you’ll find your own “why” too.
